Select your housing from five materials of construction. Clear styrene provides excellent visibility, allowing you to confirm that the filter media is installed and working properly. Select opaque styrene for light-sensitive samples. Natural polypropylene (PP) offers excellent chemical resistance. Use conductive black PP housing when wall deposit is a concern; the housing becomes conductive when grounded properly. Styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) resin is similar to styrene but with added durability.

Use two-piece housings for closed face sampling applications. With 35% less surface area than three-piece housings, there is less surface area for the contaminants to cling to, so more contaminants will end up on the filter membrane. Three-piece housings feature one spacer ring while the four-piece housings feature two spacer rings, separating the inlet from the filter media. Four-piece model allows for a center filter placement to be placed in the shoot-through FTIR cassette for on-site analysis. Both three- and four-piece housings are suitable for open and closed face sampling applications.
