The PP Systems Ramp Path Equalizer for CIRAS-3/4 (STD581) is an adjustable gas-path accessory for the Single-Step CO2 Response, or SSCO2R, Method. Installed between the AIR OUT and REF IN ports, it increases the reference-line volume so the reference and analysis channels respond consistently during a CO2 ramp.

Key Features

  • Purpose-built for the SSCO2R Method, supporting rapid A/Ci response-curve measurements with compatible PP Systems equipment
  • Compatible with CIRAS-3 and CIRAS-4 systems, providing a manufacturer-specified accessory for both portable photosynthesis platforms
  • Balances gas-path response times, increasing the reference-line volume to match the response of the reference and analysis channels
  • Direct rear-panel installation, connecting between the AIR OUT and REF IN ports of the CIRAS console
  • Adjustable syringe volume, allowing the path volume to be matched for the selected cuvette flow rate
  • Controlled setup adjustment, with CIRAS-3 guidance specifying changes in 5 mL increments while monitoring the CO2 differential
  • Near-zero CO2 differential target, with CIRAS-3 guidance specifying stabilisation between -1 and +1 µmol mol-1
  • Reusable setting for repeated ramps, with no further plunger adjustment required while the applicable flow rate and system configuration remain unchanged

Note: Complete the required Stored Diff Balance calibration before use. Readjust the equalizer after changing the cuvette flow rate; CIRAS-3 guidance also requires a new adjustment after changing the cuvette head plates.

Benefits

  • Supports the SSCO2R workflow for producing A/Ci response curves in real time without a separate empty-chamber correction process.
  • Simplifies reference-path volume matching through an adjustable syringe rather than relying solely on fixed tubing lengths.
  • Allows repeated leaf ramp experiments at the same flow rate without readjusting the equalizer between measurements.
  • Provides a manufacturer-documented setup accessory for both CIRAS-3 and CIRAS-4 photosynthesis systems.
