Outputs up to 2400 calories can be achieved with self-oxidizing samples in inert atmosphere, limited to 1200 calories in oxygen combustion.
  • Self-sealing 1109 Semimicro Oxygen Bomb with O-ring main seal, inlet/outlet valve for oxygen filling and release, insulated and grounded electrodes for firing.
  • Samples held in a shallow nickel alloy dish on an adjustable Inconel loop connected to the oxygen inlet tube; electrical firing circuit connection via central terminal stem.
  • Oxygen supplied via Parr 1824 Filling Connection with automatic relief valve for safe filling from commercial oxygen tanks.
  • Effective Thermal Jacket: A fully silvered glass Dewar vacuum flask holds the bomb in 460 g of water, inside a removable stainless steel air can surrounded by insulating foam and mounted in a sturdy aluminum case.
  • Thermistor probe and stirrer mounted on the calorimeter cover; stirring shaft driven at ~450 rpm by a motor with easily removable drive belt.
