Parr 4650 HP/HT Vessel, 500 mL, PTFE Flat Gasket, VGR

The Parr 4650 HP/HT Vessel, 500 mL, PTFE Flat Gasket, VGR (1506575.Base) is a non-stirred high-pressure and high-temperature vessel with a 500 mL nominal capacity. This configuration uses a PTFE flat gasket, T316 stainless steel construction and a VGR head, with a maximum allowable working pressure of 6000 psi (413 bar) at 350 °C.

Key Features

  • 500 mL working configuration, providing a mid-size vessel within the Parr 4650 Series
  • High-pressure operation at elevated temperature, rated to 6000 psi (413 bar) at 350 °C
  • PTFE flat-gasket sealing, with a maximum operating temperature of 350 °C for the configured -T gasket
  • T316 stainless steel construction, corresponding to the Parr -SS material configuration
  • VGR head configuration, incorporating a valve, pressure gauge, rupture disc assembly, thermocouple and thermowell
  • Secure split-ring closure, using eight compression bolts to develop the required gasket sealing force
  • Seven possible head openings, subject to the sizes and types of fittings selected
  • Quarter-inch female valve connections, using 1/4-inch NPT ports
  • Large pressure gauge format, with a 4.5-inch gauge and selectable pressure ranges
  • Direct temperature measurement, using the supplied thermocouple and thermowell arrangement
  • Defined 500 mL cylinder dimensions, with a 2.5-inch internal diameter and 6.63-inch internal depth
  • Moveable or fixed-head system options, allowing the vessel arrangement to be selected for the intended installation
  • Optional dip-tube valve configuration, enabling an additional single or double valve assembly with a dip tube
  • Optional temperature-control accessories, including a single-loop cooling coil and 1500 W ceramic-fibre heater

Note: The 6000 psi rating applies at 350 °C. This PTFE flat-gasket configuration is limited to 350 °C; operation from 500 °C to 600 °C requires a separately configured flexible graphite flat gasket and different pressure limits.

Benefits

  • Supports demanding non-stirred laboratory processes requiring simultaneous elevated pressure and temperature.
  • Provides integrated pressure monitoring, overpressure protection and temperature measurement through the VGR head.
  • Reduces configuration complexity by combining the principal vessel fittings within one defined head arrangement.
  • Allows the installation format to be matched to handling and access requirements through moveable and fixed-head options.
  • Supports future process adaptation through optional dip tubes, cooling coils, heaters and custom head ports.
  • Provides clear pressure-temperature limits for safer equipment selection and operating-procedure development.
