Overview

The vapour-liquid equilibrium data are able to be measured and determined with two-component

or multi-component systems forming two phase (vapour-liquid) or three phase (vapour-liquid-

liquid) mixtures. The unit can be applied for measuring equilibrium data and evaluation of

equilibrium curves. These curves are for example used for the calculation of the separation

efficiency of distillation columns.

The VLLE-apparatus can also be operated as VLE-apparatus. The ultrasonic generator for

homogenisation of the liquid phases can be removed easily.

Built with microprocessor controller for precise and reliable operation.

The system consists of:

- 1 x mounting frame for all unit parts, including all holders, fully housed with polycarbonate

screens and aluminium sheets. The polycarbonate screens at the side do have hand holes

for operation of the valves without opening the safety-housing. The polycarbonate doors

in front are divided into sections. Only one door needs to be opened for taking samples.

- 1 x glass apparatus, complete with silvered vacuum mantle, cooler, circulation evaporator and

vacuum-tight screwing for sample take-off by means of a syringe, alternative sample take

off with solenoid operated valves

- 1 x immersion heater 350 W, with antibumping surface finish

- 1 x magnetic stirrer for intensive mixing

- 10 x final receivers with screw caps, approx. 5 ml, for operation under atmospheric conditions,

vacuum and overpressure

- 1 x feed burette, 250 ml, graduated, plastic coated

- 2 x solenoid coils

- 1 x liquid thermometer Pt- 100

- 1 x vapour thermometer Pt- 100

- 1 x ultrasonic generator for the homogenisation of two liquid phases

- 2 x gastight syringe 10 uL

- 1 x Phase Equilibrium Controller FISCHER® [VLLE] with modem micro-electronics, offers

high operating comfort, safety and reliability, with menu guided operation by touch panel

Can be connected to a PC for data display and data storage by means of an interface (see

Item 10 and 11).

    Following functions are available:

    - vapour temperature display:

    range: 0...250°C

    accuracy: ± 0.1 K if calibrated (see calibration of vapour temp sensor)

    resolution: 0.01 K

    - liquid temperature display:

    range: 0...250°C

    - pressure/vacuum display and control:

    accuracy of measurement: 0...l bar abs.: ± 1 mbar if calibrated (see calibration of pressure sensor 0-1013mbar)

                                           1 . . .4 bar abs.: ± 4 mbar if calibrated (see calibration of pressure sensor 0-4000mbar)

    - heating power preset for evaporator (0... 100%)

    - controlling of the solenoids for sample take-off (manually)
