The main unit comprises an air heater, fine control pressure regulator, pressure gauge, and mounting clip for the test vessel. An interlocked 3 pin socket provides power to an external air pump (not supplied) when the heater is on. The digital temperature controller is housed in a separate unit. The instrument is protected by an over temperature cut-out. The output of the balance is monitored by the software, calculating the density of the sample prior to and during the test, and the time taken for the sample to reach target density to be determined automatically. End point values can be output to a printer or stored on disk.
